ABOUT THE COMPANY
The Players' Theatre was formed 30+ years ago in the Rhondda Valley of south Wales.
They have won many coveted awards over the years, including 3 times British Theatre
Champions and 4 times Official U.K representatives in International Festivals of Theatre.
Over the ensuing years they have travelled all over Britain - at the last count they had
appeared in over 80 towns & cities. They have also acted in Ireland, Canada, Monaco
and go regularly to Florida, from whence they have just come. The furthest they have
traveled was to appear at a World Festival of Theatre in Korea in 1997.
It was during one of their performances in Monaco at THE World Festival of Theatre that
they met the Mobile Theatre Guild, who were there representing the United States of
America. The two groups hit it off and in 2004 The Mobile Theatre Guild invited the Welsh
Company to appear in Alabama, bringing with them Dylan Thomas' "Under Milk Wood".
