The Pillowman
by Martin McDonagh

March 18 at 2 PM

A butcher by day, young Katurian spends his nights writing stories - horrifying stories which may or may not be directly connected to a real-life string of brutal murders.

Set in an imaginary totalitarian state where criminal suspects have few rights and the government has few limits, The Pillowman centers on the interrogation of Katurian and his mentally-challenged brother by two policemen

This intriguing whodunnit by Martin McDonagh is filled with the kind of dark humor you'd expect from a writer who counts filmmakers Martin Scorsese (Goodfellas, The Departed), David Lynch (Twin Peaks), and Quentin Tarantino ( Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction) as his chief influences.

Winner of the Britain's Olivier Award for Best Play and a Tony Award nominee in New York, The Pillowman is a play you won't easily forget.

"A spellbinding stunner of a play - appallingly
funny, endlessly quotable, delicious and
wondrous!"  Ben Brantley, The New York Times

"Riveting!" Elyse Sommer , CurtainUp

"The macabre spirit of Edward Gorey, the
dreamworld of Borges and the sinister enchantment
of the Brothers Grimm, shot through with a profane
nastiness that makes it entirely contemporary"
David Rooney, Variety

"A fairy tale wrapped in a nightmare told with uncommon mastery. Comically unsettling, bracingly horrific and tantalizingly layered - remarkable!" Robert Hurwitt,
San Francisco Chronicle
